Digi Connect® ES 8SB: IEC 60601-certified extended safety terminal server
The Digi Connect ES 8SB provides reliable serial connectivity over Ethernet and meets the requirements of IEC 60601 3rd Edition. With eight galvanically isolated RS-232 serial ports, a 10/100 Mbps network interface and an optional Ethernet switch, it is the ideal solution for demanding applications.
Advanced security for critical environments
The Digi Connect® ES 8SB is used in applications that require a secure Ethernet connection from serial devices to the central data management system. Thanks to galvanic isolation, it offers enhanced electrical safety, preventing electric shock in the event of physical contact with the device.
Patented RealPort® COM port redirector technology
Digi’s patented RealPort® COM port redirector technology allows you to create a seamless connection between the host and a networked serial device. It creates a local COM or TTY port on the host computer to support existing software applications without modification.
Inbound/outbound and Telnet sessions on each port give system administrators a high degree of control over networked serial devices. Additional features such as Secure Shell (SSH v2) encryption protect against unauthorized network monitoring or “sniffing” to ensure the security of your data.
