Digi Connect® EZ WS – Serial Server for Medical Device Connectivity
The Digi Connect® EZ WS is specifically designed for the secure integration of medical devices. Featuring four RS-232 ports, it enables reliable serial-to-Ethernet communication for M2M data exchange – ideal for connecting patient data to hospital information systems or electronic medical records (EMR). With compliance to IEC 60601‑1 (3rd Edition), it is approved for use in clinical environments, including near-patient applications. Thanks to Click-to-Connect, the system boots within seconds and can be configured in just minutes – using Digi Navigator™, Digi Remote Manager®, or the Digi On-Prem Manager.
Secure Communication & Centralized Management
Digi’s proven RealPort® technology delivers true COM port functionality over Ethernet and supports encrypted communication between host systems and connected devices. Combined with Digi TrustFence®, the device is built to meet modern IT security requirements, including VPN support, centralized authentication, and scalable firmware updates. The preinstalled Digi Accelerated Linux (DAL) provides a robust and long-term software platform, with integrated Python support for custom application development at the device level.
Flexible Power & Lifecycle Assurance
The Digi Connect® EZ WS supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), allowing installation near medical devices without the need for separate power supplies. Built for long-term operation, the device includes 1 year of LifeCycle Assurancewith 24/7 expert support, advanced device management, and security services via Digi Remote Manager or On-Prem management tools.
