Description
Digi PortServer® TS 3 M MEI: Serial Device Server for Demanding Industrial Applications
The Digi PortServer® TS 3 M MEI is a versatile and reliable 3-port device server that combines Ethernet and RS-232/422/485 serial communication with an integrated v.90/v.92 modem. This makes it the ideal solution for applications that require both modern IP networking and traditional dial-up connectivity to securely and flexibly access remote serial devices.
With its three switch-selectable MEI interfaces, the PortServer TS 3 M MEI offers maximum flexibility for a wide range of industrial environments—from remote maintenance and telemetry to remote stations and critical infrastructures such as energy and pipeline systems. Thanks to the integrated modem, remote devices can both dial in and initiate outgoing dial-up connections, even when the primary IP network is unavailable. Using PPP, full IP communication can also be established over standard telephone lines.
Support for SSH, SSL/TLS, PPP, TCP/UDP and Extended Telnet RFC 2217 ensures secure data transmission and broad compatibility. Digi’s RealPort® COM port redirector allows serial ports to function like local interfaces, making it ideal for existing software that requires no modifications.
With its compact form factor, 9–30 VDC power input, robust diagnostic tools and extensive management capabilities, the PortServer TS 3 M MEI is perfectly suited for professional remote-access scenarios, remote monitoring, and location-independent device connectivity.
