IMC-C100-XX series – Compact 10/100TX to 100FX media converter for industrial applications

The IMC-C100-XX series is the further development of the proven IMC-100A-M media converter and offers a compact, reliable solution for converting Ethernet to fiber optics. The devices have a 10/100TX RJ45 Ethernet connection as well as a fixed 100FX fiber optic connection with SC or ST connectors – as a multi-mode or single-mode variant, depending on the model.

Efficient Ethernet to fiber optic conversion

The media converters of the IMC-C100-XX series enable the connection of copper to fiber optic connections with automatic negotiation of speed and duplex mode as well as Auto MDI/MDI-X. The store-and-forward switching architecture ensures reliable data transmission, complemented by the integrated Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) and Far End Fault (FEF) functions for better fault diagnosis and network security.

Robust design for industrial environments

With a robust metal housing, IP30 protection rating and DIN rail and wall mounting options, the converters are optimized for use in demanding industrial environments – ideal for applications such as monitoring systems, industrial automation or traffic engineering. The series is available in two temperature variants: Standard (-10°C to 70°C) and Extended (-40°C to 80°C).

Flexible power supply and protection functions

The IMC-C100-XX series supports a redundant 12-48 VDC power supply via a 6-pin terminal block. Integrated reverse polarity protection and overcurrent protection ensure safe operation even under unstable conditions. The devices consume only 2 W of power and offer a long service life (MTBF over 2 million hours at 25 °C).

The IMC-C100-XX series is the ideal choice for industrial network infrastructures that rely on space-saving, robust and high-performance media conversion from Ethernet to fiber optics.
