Digi XBee® RR 2.4GHz, Zigbee RF Module with U.FL Antenna
The Digi XBee® RR 2.4 GHz Zigbee RF module with U.FL antenna connector is a powerful and ultra-compact wireless module designed for demanding IoT applications that require flexible antenna integration, reliable mesh networking and energy-efficient operation. Supporting Zigbee 3.0, BLE (slave mode), DigiMesh and 802.15.4, the module provides a highly versatile platform for modern wireless sensor networks, including building automation, smart lighting, energy management and healthcare applications.
The XBRR-24Z8UM-J model features a U.FL antenna connector, enabling the use of an external antenna. This makes the module ideal for applications with specific RF requirements, challenging enclosure designs or scenarios where antenna placement is critical to achieve optimal range and signal quality. Its extremely small micro form factor of just 13 × 19 mm also makes it an excellent choice for space-constrained designs and portable, battery-powered devices.
With a line-of-sight range of up to 1,200 meters and a transmit power of +8 dBm, the XBee RR delivers high-performance and stable RF connectivity even in demanding environments. Configuration is flexible using API or AT commands—either locally or over-the-air (OTA). Using tools such as Digi XCTU®, the Digi XBee Mobile App, or gateways like the Digi IX15, the module can be easily integrated, monitored and centrally managed within existing IoT ecosystems.
Additional protection is provided by the integrated Digi TrustFence® security architecture, which offers safeguards for device identity, data integrity and secure network access. This makes the XBee RR an ideal solution for scalable, secure and energy-efficient Zigbee-based IoT applications.
