With our high-quality PCIe expansion kits, you can enable a local PCI Express connection from the host directly to the target device. The expansion sets consist of two adapter cards and a PCIe cable. We can also provide custom expansion sets depending on your chassis’s use case. Recently, BRESSNER has introduced the option to purchase PCIe Gen4 adapter cards and cables as part of a set. If you require more slots in your hardware for this, be sure to check out our range of expansion backplanes.

The transmission speed for PCIe depends on the version and the number of links or lanes. The higher the version and the more links, the higher the bandwidth and the higher the transmission speed. The bandwidth indicates how much capacity is theoretically or at most available for data transfer. However, the actual data rate is lower.

BRESSNER offers a variety of server and expansion systems that allow for different configurations depending on the model and application. Our GPU servers and expansion chassis can accommodate:

  • Up to 10 double-width GPUs or
  • Up to 16 single-width GPUs

This flexibility enables you to optimize the system for your specific workload, whether for AI, machine learning, or data-intensive simulations. Our systems are designed to provide maximum GPU density while ensuring optimal cooling and energy efficiency.

An upgrade to PCIe Gen5 is particularly worthwhile if your project benefits from increased bandwidth and lower latency. PCIe Gen5 offers a data rate of up to 32 GT/s (gigatransfers per second)—twice the speed of PCIe Gen4—allowing for significantly faster communication between GPUs, CPUs, and storage devices.

When does an upgrade make sense?
