Market leader for PCIe Gen 5 accelerators

As the market leader for PCIe 5.0 accelerators and expansions, we are the best possible contact for all questions relating to PCI Express. Of course, this also applies to Gen 4 or Gen 3 slots!

The transmission speed for PCIe depends on the version and the number of links or lanes. The higher the version and the more links, the higher the bandwidth and the higher the transmission speed. The bandwidth indicates how much capacity is theoretically or at most available for data transfer. However, the actual data rate is lower.

FAQs

Which enclosure variants does BRESSNER offer for its HPC solutions?2025-02-03T16:22:04+01:00

BRESSNER offers a wide range of enclosure variants tailored to different requirements:

  • Short-Depth Enclosures:
For environments with limited space, we offer servers with a depth of just 47 cm. These compact systems are ideal for small data centers or industrial environments with space constraints.
  • 19-Inch Rackmounts:
Our solutions range from compact 1U enclosures for smaller applications to powerful 4U servers that accommodate multiple GPUs and expansion cards. This variant is the preferred choice for traditional data centers, offering maximum flexibility and scalability.
  • Desktop Solutions:
For users needing HPC performance in an office or lab setting, we provide desktop systems with Thunderbolt ports. These are particularly suited for developers who require high-performance GPUs in a user-friendly and portable solution.

Whether you’re looking for a space-saving solution, a powerful rackmount, or a compact desktop system, BRESSNER has the right enclosure variant for your needs.

How many slots do the servers and expansion systems offer?2025-02-03T16:24:12+01:00

BRESSNER offers a variety of server and expansion systems that allow for different configurations depending on the model and application. Our GPU servers and expansion chassis can accommodate:

  • Up to 10 double-width GPUs or
  • Up to 16 single-width GPUs

This flexibility enables you to optimize the system for your specific workload, whether for AI, machine learning, or data-intensive simulations. Our systems are designed to provide maximum GPU density while ensuring optimal cooling and energy efficiency.

When does an upgrade to PCIe Gen5 make sense for my project?2025-02-03T16:26:31+01:00

An upgrade to PCIe Gen5 is particularly worthwhile if your project benefits from increased bandwidth and lower latency. PCIe Gen5 offers a data rate of up to 32 GT/s (gigatransfers per second)—twice the speed of PCIe Gen4—allowing for significantly faster communication between GPUs, CPUs, and storage devices.

When does an upgrade make sense?

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC): If you process large datasets or run simulations, PCIe Gen5 ensures faster data transfers and reduces bottlenecks.
  • AI and Machine Learning Workloads: For multi-GPU models or frequent data access, PCIe Gen5 significantly improves efficiency.
  • NVMe Storage: PCIe Gen5 enhances the performance of modern NVMe SSDs, which can achieve extremely high data rates.

However, if your current infrastructure is not limited by bandwidth constraints, upgrading may not be immediately necessary. Our experts are happy to assist in evaluating the best solution for your needs.
