Ultra-sturdy stainless steel (SUS 304 or SUS 316)

Waterproof touch displays feature a SUS304 stainless steel housing and a full flat touch panel as standard. They protect the devices from oxidation and corrosion caused by water, as well as acidic and alkaline liquids. The brushed stainless steel makes it harder for germs and bacteria to spread, which is particularly advantageous for industries with high hygiene standards.

In some applications (e.g., in chemical factories), where strong acids or solvents are used, BRESSNER also offers the option to use SUS316 housing. Compared to type 304, this stainless steel contains 3% molybdenum, further improving corrosion resistance.

The choice between PCAP (Projected Capacitive) and resistive touchscreen depends on the application’s requirements.

PCAP multi-touch enables intuitive operation with multiple fingers and supports gesture control such as swiping or zooming. Thanks to its robust glass surface, it is durable and well-suited for modern, design-oriented applications such as infoterminals or HMIs in cleanrooms. However, PCAP touchscreens have limited functionality when used with gloves (e.g., thin latex gloves) or on wet surfaces.

A resistive touchscreen, on the other hand, works through pressure and can therefore be used with gloves, styluses, or other input devices. It is resistant to moisture and provides a cost-effective solution for harsh environments, such as industrial production or medical devices. However, it does not offer multi-touch functionality and is less responsive.
